Dr. Mike Evans
Churches United With Israel (CUWI) was founded by Dr. Mike Evans, Founder and CEO of Friends of Zion (FOZ). For more than 50 years, Dr. Evans has been a leading Christian voice in defense of Israel and the Jewish people. His ministry has inspired millions of believers around the world to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and to stand with Israel with clarity, courage, and conviction.
Dr. Evans’ passion for this work is deeply personal. Growing up, he often heard his Jewish mother say, “Christians hate Jews.” She carried that belief because her own grandfather perished when his synagogue—located in what is now Belarus—was burned to the ground by the Nazis, killing everyone inside.
His family’s story, coupled with God’s calling on his life, has shaped more than five decades of ministry devoted to blessing Israel, strengthening Christian understanding, and confronting hatred in all its forms.
Today, the rise of anti-Semitism presents a danger unlike anything seen in our lifetimes. What was once hidden is now openly celebrated. What was once fringe has become mainstream. Anti-Zionism has become the new public face of this ancient hatred—denying Israel’s right to exist and threatening the safety of the Jewish people worldwide.
This moment demands a clear, biblical, and courageous response from the Church.
Mobilizing the Church to Stand With Israel
Churches United With Israel is a strategic effort to mobilize pastors, church leaders, and congregations to stand firm in their support of Israel, to speak clearly against anti-Semitism, and to demonstrate genuine Christian love for the Jewish people in both word and deed. CUWI helped bring together in Israel one of the largest gatherings of pastors and Christian leaders ever assembled—an effort that reflects the breadth, strength, and growing momentum of this movement. This historic initiative has further shaped CUWI into a global fellowship of churches committed to prayer, biblical teaching, and meaningful engagement with Israel.
